Muslims Will Take to the Streets Again: AIMIM's Mumbai Chalo Yatra 2024.

Muslims Will Take to the Streets Again.

After controversial remarks made by BJP leaders Nitish Rane and Gustak Ramgiri Maharaj against Prophet Muhammad, AIMIM showcased its strength through the “Mumbai Chalo Yatra” yesterday. The rally witnessed a massive turnout with participants holding the tricolor as they marched from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Aurangabad to Mumbai. Following this march, a significant update has emerged regarding the situation.

Veteran leader Barish Pathan shared a picture of Gustak Ramgiri Maharaj on social media platform X, encouraging those who couldn’t join the rally in Mumbai to express their protest online. AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi also held a press conference today, addressing the massive crowd that gathered during the yatra. He remarked that this was the largest protest by Muslims in Maharashtra’s history. He further stated that while some doubted the turnout, thousands participated peacefully, proving the naysayers wrong.

A Peaceful Protest and What’s Next.

Owaisi announced that another protest will soon take place, again in Mumbai, emphasizing that “Muslims will take to the streets again” if their demands are not met. He expressed pride in organizing a peaceful protest and said that it sent a strong message to other communities that Muslims can rally just as effectively.

Reflecting on the impact of the yatra, Owaisi mentioned that people of different communities, including the OBC and Maratha groups, should no longer think that they alone can mobilize large crowds. He confidently stated, “If needed, I can bring lakhs of people onto the streets of Mumbai.”

The Response to Controversial Remarks.

The remarks made by BJP MLA Nitish Rane and Gustak Ramgiri Maharaj triggered outrage, prompting the massive gathering. AIMIM organized the “Tiranga Yatra” as a response to these comments, with thousands of participants demanding action against Rane and Maharaj. The protest was led by former MP Imtiyas Jaleel and Barish Pathan, who aimed to present their demands to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Ramgiri Maharaj Defends His Statement.

On the other hand, Gustak Ramgiri Maharaj defended his controversial remarks, claiming that they were based on scripture and history. He stated, “This is history, and history cannot be changed. It is my responsibility to bring the truth to light.” He further added that he does not regret his statements, asserting that freedom of speech allows him to express his opinions freely in this country.

Looking Ahead: A Call for Action.

The situation remains tense as AIMIM vows to continue its protest if their demands are not met. Owaisi has already announced that, if necessary, the next protest will take place at Azad Maidan after obtaining proper permissions. “Muslims will take to the streets again,” Owaisi reiterated, making it clear that the movement is far from over.

The social media was flooded with images and videos of the yatra, with the long line of vehicles and the massive turnout shocking many. The protest, which was peaceful throughout, highlighted the strong emotions sparked by the comments made by Nitish Rane and Gustak Ramgiri Maharaj.
