Fox’s Trey Yinkst reports that the Israeli military launched airstrikes near the southern Gaza city of Han Yunis. The IDF ordered a mass evacuation of Palestinians from part of Gaza’s second-largest city. Deployed troops may begin a new ground operation.
Evacuation Zone and UN Estimate.
UN officials estimate about 250,000 people are in the evacuation zone, including some fleeing other fighting.
End of Offensive in Han Yunis.
Earlier this year, the Israeli military ended an offensive in Han Yunis and withdrew most of its troops. But the evacuation orders show that Hamas has regrouped in the area.

Still, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel is close to eliminating the militant group.”We will achieve all of our goals: getting our hostages back, eliminating Hamas’ military and government capabilities, and guaranteeing that there is no threat from Gaza.”

As the fighting intensifies, some Western leaders say they remain hopeful a ceasefire agreement can be reached between Israel and Hamas.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken has increased pressure on the Hamas leader to reach a deal. “A man buried hundreds of feet underground in Gaza has the power to make decisions. He continues to hold Palestinian children, women, and men hostage.”Hamas’ Statement.
Hamas says it will not release the remaining hostages until all Israeli forces withdraw from Gaza.
